SMART STONE underwent reaction-to-fire testing in Europe and was classified B-s1,d0 in accordance with PN-EN 13501-1+A1:2010. The tests were conducted by the Building Research Institute (ITB) in Poland.
Smart Stone — a flexible stone for façades and interiors, manufactured in Chișinău. In test reports from various countries, the same material may also be referred to by other names: SMART ELASTIC STONE (the adhesive-based system, in reports from Moldova), Flex Decor or Elastic Stone (in reports from Israel).

SMART STONE was tested by the Fire Research Laboratory of the Building Research Institute (ITB) in Poland. Based on the test results, SMART STONE was classified as B-s1,d0 for reaction to fire.
Organisation: Building Research Institute, Poland. Instytut Techniki Budowlanej (ITB) — The largest research institute in the field of construction in Poland, widely recognised across Europe. It was founded in Warsaw after the Second World War. ITB carries out tests on building materials and structures in its accredited group of laboratories, issues national and European technical assessments, and also carries out certification. The Institute is a Notified Body of the European Union (Notified Body No. 1488) and a member of EOTA (the European Organisation for Technical Assessments). ITB’s scope of work covers structural safety, fire safety, energy efficiency and sustainable construction. The Institute houses the Fire Research Laboratory, where the SMART STONE tests were carried out.

What was tested: the behaviour of SMART STONE when exposed to a single burning item. The test evaluates fire growth, heat and smoke production, as well as the occurrence of flaming droplets or particles.
Smart Stone has also been presented at international events dedicated to inventions and innovation. The available documents include the Politehnica Innovation Award, awarded to SMART STONE by University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest, as well as participation in the EUROINVENT exhibition in Iași.

SMART STONE received the Politehnica Innovation Award from University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest.
Location: Iași, Romania. A European exhibition of creativity and innovation, held in Iași (Romania) since 2009. It is organised by the Romanian Inventors Forum in collaboration with the ‘Gheorghe Asachi’ Technical University of Iași and the ‘Alexandru Ioan Cuza’ University. The exhibition is held under the auspices of IFIA (the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations) and WIIPA (the World Intellectual Property Association for Inventions). Every year, participants from more than 30 countries present hundreds of inventions and research projects at EUROINVENT. An international jury awards medals and special prizes.
